Settlement Transactions – CBK | Central Bank of Kenya

The Domestic Settlements Section is responsible for redeeming Government Securities and paying interest on Treasury Bonds. Redemption may be full when a security matures or partial on scheduled dates, which are set at issuance and stated in the relevant documents. Treasury Bonds pay interest after every six months until maturity, while Treasury Bills do not pay interest since they are sold at a discount. The Section also initiates and approves the transfer of funds to investors for redemptions and interest payments.
